Day 2 - Lunch

We had a big breakfast at the buffet at the hotel this morning because we didn't know what we were going to do about lunch.  Well at about 11:00 a.m., the friends said we needed to go to where they had prepared lunch for us. What a surprise!  A sister in an apartment used a little community room in her complex. We then met more friends who were doing the cooking.  Once again, the tears and overwhelming feeling of being cared for.  We are not used to so much attention.

The friends made us a traditional meal of breaded and fried pork and beef curry.  The brothers laughed when they saw the boys using chopsticks!!!

Several gave us gifts.  The sister working with Lynne gave her a box with a fan and a fan sleeve.  One sister made a whole bag of origami.

The paper placemats they used were of famous Japanese paintings - very pretty (we of course were careful eaters so we could take a few home).  Google, "Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji."                          .

Someone had made a nice center piece in the room of flowers and a huge fan. We took pictures before leaving, hugged everyone and thanked everyone (arigatou gozaimasu - sounds like 'aree-gotto   go-zeye-mus).  The Suzuki family drove an hour again to take us back to our hotel - then an hours drive for them back home.  What loving friends.
